Boiler Repair Leads: Be The Heating Firm That Gets The Call When The Boiler Fails

When a boiler packs up in November, the homeowner does not shop around for long. They search, they ring the first firm that looks right, and they book whoever answers. For a heating firm, boiler repair leads are the fastest jobs to win all year, as long as you are the one who turns up in that search and picks up the phone. Win the repair and you are also first in line for the replacement when the old boiler finally goes.

Homeowners are searching for someone to come out

Grouped horizontal bar chart. UK homeowners surveyed about replacing a boiler, split by whether they had planned the replacement. Needed an emergency replacement: 39% of those who had not planned, 19% of those who had. Waited more than a day for heating: 63% against 22%. Struggled to find an installer: 15% against 8%. We looked at Google’s UK search data on 22 October 2026. Around “boiler repair”, the fastest rising related searches over the past year were “emergency boiler repair cost”, up 120%, and “boiler repair companies”, up 80%. Around “boiler replacement”, “boiler replacement near me” rose 90% and “emergency boiler replacement” 70%. Those are related searches compared within the same twelve months, so they show what people are now asking rather than how many are asking. And what they are asking is who can come out, and what it will cost.

Which? research from June 2025 shows who these people are. Homeowners who had not planned for a new boiler were twice as likely to end up needing an emergency replacement, 39% against 19%. 63% of them waited more than a day for a replacement, against 22% of those who had planned. And 15% struggled to find an installer at all, nearly double the 8% of planners.

Read from the side of a heating firm, that is a homeowner with a cold house who is ready to book and finding it hard to get anyone. Be easy to find and quick to answer, and the job is yours.

Be there when they search

The homeowner with no heating types what is wrong and where they are: “boiler repair near me”, “emergency boiler engineer [town]”. Search ads put you in those results from the day they go live, and you choose the towns and the searches you appear for.

That is how we ran it for Direct Plumbing and Heating in Crawley: boiler installation and repair ads, emergency callout ads, and targeting set town by town across West Sussex. The ads sent people straight to the matching service page, with no separate landing pages needed.

Ads work best alongside a strong free listing in the map results, which we covered in turning up when someone nearby searches. Recent Google reviews help with both: a homeowner choosing between three firms in a hurry picks the one other people vouch for.

Make the page answer the emergency

A page from the Direct Plumbing and Heating website for Crawley, with Get a Quote and Call Us Now buttons in the header and a box headed Need Emergency Plumbing in Crawley showing a phone number.
The emergency number on the town page, and Call Us Now in the header. Direct Plumbing and Heating, built by Tip-Top.

Someone standing next to a cold radiator will not read a long page. Give them what they came for:

  • Your phone number at the top, as a button that rings you from a mobile.
  • The towns you cover, in their words, so they know you will come to them.
  • What the callout costs. “Emergency boiler repair cost” is one of the fastest rising searches. A clear callout charge, or a typical range, answers it before they ring someone else to ask.
  • When you can come. Same day, next morning, weekends. Say it plainly.
  • Your Gas Safe registration and your reviews, so they can trust you with no time to check.

Answer first time

The search brings the call. Answering it wins the job. If you are under a boiler when the phone rings, the homeowner rings the next firm on the list.

A simple system catches the calls you miss. Every missed call gets a text back straight away, saying you have seen it and when you will ring. Every web form gets an instant reply. Texts, WhatsApp messages and emails land in one inbox, so nothing sits unread in a van. We set these up as part of our CRM and automation work, and it is the same principle as the follow up that wins the job: the sooner you reply, the less time they have to ring someone else.

Turn the repair into the next job

A winter callout puts you inside a home with an old boiler. Note its age and condition on the job, tell the homeowner honestly how long it has left, and keep their details. When it does need replacing, you are the firm they already know and trust, and that is a bigger job than the repair.

Where to start

  1. Search “boiler repair” and “emergency boiler engineer” with each town you cover. See who comes up, and whether you do.
  2. Put your number, your towns, your callout cost and your availability on one page.
  3. Make sure every missed call and every form gets a reply within minutes, even when you are on a job.
  4. Record boiler age on every repair, so the replacement conversation is ready when the time comes.

We run search ads and the reply systems behind them for heating and plumbing firms. If you would like us to look at what homeowners in your area see when their boiler fails, book a free 20 minute strategy call.
